The Japan Professional Basketball League (Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Chairman: Shinji Shimada; hereafter ‘B. LEAGUE’) is pleased to announce that the B. LEAGUE2023-24 season champions, HIROSHIMA DRAGONFLIES, will participate in the Basketball Champions League Asia hosted by FIBA.
FIBA announced on May 3, 2024, that the Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia),based on its predecessor, the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, will be established and held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) from June 9 (Sunday) to 15 (Saturday) 2024for the first time. In this competition, eight clubs representing each of the eight Asian countries will compete for the title of Asia's No.1 club, with the winning club qualifying for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup to be held in September 2024. So far, the host country has been joined by Shabab Al Ahli Dubai (United Arab Emirates), qualifiers Pelita Jaya Basketball (Indonesia) and NS Matrix (Malaysia), Korean domestic league KBL champions Busan KCC Egis(South Korea), Chinese domestic league CBA champions Liaoning Hengrun Flying Leopards (China), the CBA champions, and HIROSHIMA DRAGONFLIES (Japan),representing the B. LEAGUE.

The Asian Champions Cup, which has been suspended since 2020 due to the global spread of the covid-19 and the global situation, has now been officially notified that it will be held as a new competition for the first time in five years. B. LEAGUE, with ALVARK TOKYO finishing runners-up in 2018 and winning in2019. This time, HIROSHIMA DRAGONFLIES will represent the B. LEAGUE in the Basketball Champions League Asia, aiming to become the first champions of the competition, and the league will do its utmost to support the players as they continue to tough competition after the season is over so that they can display their full potential.
